We are Independent Financial Advisers. This means that we offer you advice from across the whole market. We also give you the option of paying us by fees or commissions. Financial planning is very different to buying a tangible product, such as a car or washing machine. You can measure the performance of the tangible product in the present, and it is pretty obvious if it is failing. Our challenge is to agree with you on a fee - both the form and the amount, that you feel is fair, and we prefer to weight it towards the future so that we can continue to review your plan.
Having said all this, we have some clients who wish to pay us up front for all our work by means of a payment from the company or provider we use; others prefer to combine this with an ongoing relationship in which we are paid year on year. We try to ensure that you understand the true direct cost to you, and to gain your agreement before proceeding.
